About The Course

At FCA we want to focus on sustainability in upholstery and so will be offering traditional and ‘sustainable modern’ upholstery classes. FCA is a foam free zone.

Our term time leisure courses will run in 5 week blocks. You will be expertly guided through your project by Hannah Weston Smith. There will be a maximum of 8 students per class to ensure you get the guidance you need to work on your project to the best of your ability.

You can choose to do half day or full days to suit your timetable and skill level.

Materials

The price includes the use of an upholstery toolkit and basic sundries including twine, tacks, laid cord, slipping thread and gimp pins. Other materials can be purchased from the School store and will be paid for at the end of the course. Please click on FAQ for more info.

We also have some rolls of high quality fabrics to choose from and purchase on the day along with sample books from some of our favorite fabric houses. All can be perused over a nice cup of tea and homemade cake!

Booking

Please email us via the link to book and send a picture of your project so we can ensure we can meet your expectations. For beginners we suggest something simple such as a dining chair. If you are more experienced, you might want to bring an armchair, sprung chair or stool, but bear in mind that these projects will take longer than one course. For larger projects such as a chaise longues or small sofas please discuss with us first.

We will try and offer an alternative for any class missed if available - but this is not guarenteed. No classes can be carried over to the next term, or refunds given for missed classes.
